Pitch a Bribie piece that can be cited

We accept reported visitor-planning essays that point at official sources. We do not accept paid listings dressed up as guides.

Independent planning guide — check QPWS, council and Translink for live conditions.

Pumicestone Passage light for the contributor page

Tourism Bribie publishes long-form planning pages, not a marketplace. If you want to write here, you are offering reporting or explanation, not a backlink package.

What we want

  • First-person or reported pieces that help someone choose a coast, a transfer, or a rule
  • Corrections that cite a primary source (QPWS, Translink, council, marine park)
  • Seasonal observations that can be checked — “patrols were running on this date” — not “best vibe on the island”
  • Access notes that help other visitors (formed paths, shade, water, where a plan failed)

What we will not run

  • Invented prices, awards, rankings, or quotes
  • Copied archive text from the old domain or from park brochures
  • Operator advertorials, including “heritage listing” pages rewritten as sales copy
  • Event promotions that cannot be verified on an official calendar
  • Anything that tells readers to ignore a permit, a tide, or a flag

How to pitch

Use the contact form with topic “Contributor”. Include:

  1. The question your piece answers in one sentence
  2. The official sources you will rely on
  3. Whether you have a conflict (you work for a venue, tour, or agency)
  4. A short sample paragraph in your own words

We may edit heavily. We may decline without a long explanation. Publication does not imply employment or a right to change this site’s independent stance.

Rights and credit

By submitting, you confirm the words are yours and that any image you offer is yours to license. We prefer our own photography and graphics. We will credit a contributor by the name you supply, unless you ask to publish without a byline.

If you represent a business that appeared on the old directory, you may request a factual clarification on the heritage page. You may not purchase a rewrite.

Keep planning the island

Move from this page into the next decision: how you arrive, where you swim, or whether a recreation-area permit applies.
